Georgia Generals Vs. Ragin' Bulls 10-04-2008
NAFL 1st Round Playoff Game October 4, 2008.
Because of damage to the Generals home field, the game had to be played at an alternate location in Atlanta. The game started at 7:15 P. M. instead of the usual 6:30 P. M.. By that time the avaiable light had decreased significantly. The lighting at the field was horrible at best for photography! And then on top of that, there was an injury on the field. It took nearly 30 minutes for emergency personnel to arrive.
The sound system didn't work properly, so there was no music for the dance team at half-time.
The bottom line? It was a great game of football!!! Very spirited and enthusiastic! You could not ask for a better football game than what these two great teams played. Busting each other's heads and chops the whole game. But, when the game was over, each team repeatedly congratulated the other.
To me, THIS is what minor league football is all about. Overcoming the difficulties of bringing together these two great teams of young men who play simply for the love of the sport. This scene is repeated over and over throughout the country each Saturday night.
Since there was not much that I could shoot on the field, I decided to shoot as much on the sidelines as I could. Despite the lack of the usual quantity and quality of photos that my viewers have become accustomed to, I hope you enjoy what I have here.
