Manhunt Georgia Highways 314 and 279
June 6, 2014-Fayetteville, GA-The Fayette County Sheriff's Department pursue a man who jumped and ran from a car pulled over on a routine traffic stop around 4:30 P.M., possibly carrying a weapon. After about 30 minutes, Sheriff's Department K-9 Officers locate the man as he tries to escape into the wooded area along Georgia Highway 279 in the direction of Georgia Highway 138. When cornered by the K-9 Officers, the suspect surrendered. Traffic north and west of the the intersection of Georgia Highways 314 and 279 was backed up temporarily.
