November 30-1922- Fayetteville, Georgia-Mayor, Ed Johnson visits with Don Geddie, family and friends to present a certificate commemorating "Don Geddie Day," in Fayetteville, Georgia. Geddie was recognized by Mayor Johnson for his distinguished military service in World War II and to celebrate Geddie's 100th birthday. Geddie was also visited by Fayette County Sheriff, Barry Babb.
Geddie served in the U.S. Navy 1943-1946 in the Pacific Theatre of the war in places such as Hollandis and New Guinea. He ferried Admiral Nimtz and General McArthur several times to the mainland.
Geddie was born in Deatsville, Alabama.
